Usage & Preparation

  • It’s shelf-stable and easy to prepare—simply hydrate, season, and cook.

  • The shelf life is at 12+ months at ambient temperatures, and non-hydrated.

  • Hydrated products can be refrigerated, vacuum-packed, or frozen depending on preparation:

    • Refrigerated/vacuumed as well as slacked hydrated CPS products, have a 7-day shelf life (SL) for ready-to-eat (RTE) and 14 days for ready-to-cook (RTC).
    • Cooked & refrigerated hydrated CPS products have a 14-day shelf life (SL) for RTE and 21 days for RTC.
    • Frozen shelf life of 12 months+.

  • It works well in tacos, stir fry, breakfast sausage, sandwiches, pulled pork, pizza toppings, and more.

Taste & Experience

  • No, the flavour, as is, is very neutral and provides a blank canvas. Seasonings or sauces can be added to simulate meat-like taste, if desired.

  • It offers a satisfying bite, shredability and good moisture retention, which can mimic a variety of meat or seafood textures.

  • Versaterra can be cooked at high heat (deep fry, pan fry, wok fry) and will develop a rich, golden-brown exterior with appealing caramelized edges—mimicking the savory sear of traditional meats while enhancing flavor and visual appeal.

Format & Availability

  • Designed for chefs and product developers, Versaterra can be hydrated back of house, or further processed by manufacturers.

  • Versaterra is not available pre-seasoned, however can be combined with Griffth Food’s seasonings, sauces, binders or Value Added Coatings to create great tasting finished products.
