Recently, Picados reached an important milestone in its sustainability journey with the inauguration of a new solar energy system at its production facility in La Unión, Antioquia. Comprising 196 solar panels, the installation is expected to generate more than 60% of the plant’s current energy demand, significantly reducing its dependence on conventional energy sources while supporting the company’s decarbonization goals.
This investment represents much more than renewable energy. It reflects a long-term commitment to operating responsibly, improving resource efficiency, and reducing environmental impact, principles that align closely with Griffith Foods’ Aspirations 2030 and our purpose of nourishing the world by blending care and creativity.
But the impact doesn’t stop at the production facility.
As part of the initiative, Picados will also install residential solar systems for two of its employees, extending the benefits of renewable energy beyond its operations and into the communities where its people live.
