Griffith Foods’ Global Sustainability Advisory Council

Over the past several years, we have made significant progress in our Sustainability journey by working with our peers, suppliers, customers and communities. We are committed to building our triple-bottom-line sustainability platform of People, Planet and Performance across every aspect of our business.

We’re excited for the next chapter in our sustainability journey by introducing the Griffith Foods’ Global Sustainability Advisory Council!

The council includes six distinguished leaders, each bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to our organization. With backgrounds in business, government, NGOs and beyond, they will provide different perspectives and new insights to our sustainability work, as we strive to sustainably build and grow our business:

Ambassador Melanne Verveer is executive director of the Institute for Women, Peace and Security at Georgetown University, a founding partner of Seneca Point Global, cofounder of Seneca Women, and coauthor of Fast Forward: How Women Can Achieve Power and Purpose. She was previously US Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues.

Matthew Arnold is managing director and global head of sustainable finance at JP Morgan Chase. Matt previously led Sustainable Business Solutions at PwC. He founded Sustainable Finance Ltd, acquired by PwC in 2008. He was also chief operating officer at the World Resources Institute and earlier held leadership roles at IBM and Merrill Lynch.

Stuart Hart is founder of Enterprise for a Sustainable World, a nonprofit that works with businesses on sustainability and strategy. A leading global authority in his field, Stuart is the Co-Founder of the Sustainable Innovation MBA Program at the University of Vermont and the S.C. Johnson Chair Emeritus of Sustainable Global Enterprise at Cornell’s Johnson School of Management and founder of the school’s Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise.

Jane Nelson is director of the Corporate Responsibility Initiative at Harvard’s Kennedy School and a nonresident senior fellow at Brookings. Her background includes leadership and advisory roles with companies and organizations such as the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, World Economic Forum, UN Global Compact and World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Don Seville is executive director of Sustainable Food Lab, which brings together companies, NGOs and other stakeholders to build more sustainable food systems. Don leads the organization’s Sustainable Livelihoods initiative to connect small-scale producers to modern markets. In 1997, Don helped found a cooperative farm village in Hartland, Vermont.

Simon Winter is executive director of the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture. The foundation helps small farmers invest in technologies and practices to improve their agriculture, livelihoods and resilience. Prior to 2017, Simon was senior VP of development at TechnoServe, an international nonprofit advancing business solutions to poverty.

Our Global Sustainability Advisory Council works directly with our Board of Directors on committees devoted to sustainability governance, food and agriculture, and business opportunities. Vice President of Global Sustainability, Kathy Pickus, will also collaborate with the council to develop, communicate and implement sustainable strategies across our company and stakeholder network.

We look forward to blending their unique skills and capabilities with our organization’s strengths to meet the emerging and evolving needs of our planet and communities.
