Consumer Sentiment on Protein

Protein is a hot topic right now, with an increasing number of consumers turning to non-meat and non-poultry sources to get their daily intake of protein. The Griffith Consumer Insights team decided to tap into their online consumer community to find out what they think about the topic and how important protein is in their diet. In general, consumers do try to incorporate a certain amount of protein in their daily eating and regularly check labels for protein content. This is more pronounced among those that follow a vegetarian, vegan or flexitarian diet. Although chicken and eggs are the most popular sources of protein for consumers, there is interest in other food categories offering high protein products. Interest is especially high among the Millennial demographic. Check out the infographic below for more details.
