NutriAmor®: Nourishing Our Communities With Nutritious, Accessible, and Sustainable Products

In Colombia, food is more than just nourishment — it is deeply rooted in tradition and an integral part of the country’s vibrant culinary identity. Yet, 13 million Colombians face food insecurity according to the World Food Programme’s latest food security assessment.

To address malnutrition among Colombia’s most vulnerable populations, Griffith Foods partnered with Saciar Food Bank and with government and health care institutions to develop NutriAmor®, a powdered dairy beverage, to meet the specific nutritional needs of children, pregnant and nursing mothers, and the elderly while remaining culturally relevant and affordable.

NutriAmor® for children is a protein-rich blend of milk and soy, fortified with 14 essential vitamins and minerals commonly lacking among this population. One serving of NutriAmor® provides nearly 25% of a child’s daily calorie needs and serves as an excellent source of protein. Its powdered format enhances versatility; simplifies distribution; extends shelf life; and reduces the environmental impact, food waste, and costs.

NutriAmor® has reached approximately 4,000 children and 1,000 mothers through different government programs, as well as food banks operated by the Saciar Foundation. Additionally, for every product sold, a portion of the proceeds are donated to food banks across Colombia.

Building on this success, Griffith Foods is collaborating with the government and other institutions to incorporate NutriAmor® into different feeding programs. Our teams at Griffith Foods are also working to expand sales of NutriAmor® to other countries in the region grappling with food insecurity and malnutrition, as well as additional partners like hospital systems.

These initiatives align with our 2030 Aspirations to create nutritious, sustainable, and accessible products for underserved markets. This model not only helps feed individuals in need, but also fosters a positive cycle of impact and supports our communities.
